INSTALLATION PROTOCOL

Architectural Laying & Grouting Guidelines

To achieve a monolithic, flawless installation that endures for generations, our technical engineering committee recommends following these four essential stages.

01

Substrate Preparation

Ensure the concrete slab is fully cured (>28 days), structurally sound, clean of grease, and leveled to a tolerance of < 2mm over 2 meters. Apply a primer if laying on high-porosity screeds.

02

Adhesive & Buttering

Utilize C2TE S1 or S2 deformable polymer-modified cementitious adhesives. For slabs larger than 600×600 mm, double-buttering (applying mortar to both substrate and slab back) is mandatory to eliminate air voids.

03

Leveling & Joint Spacers

Employ mechanical wedge-and-clip leveling systems to eliminate lippage. Maintain a minimum joint width of 2.0 mm for indoor residential floors and 3.0 mm for high-traffic commercial or exterior environments.

04

Perimeter Expansion

Incorporate flexible perimeter movement joints (minimum 6mm) along all walls and structural columns. In large rooms, introduce compartmentalization expansion joints every 4 to 5 linear meters.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Architectural & Specifier Clarifications

Answers to key technical questions posed by architects, structural contractors, and luxury homebuilders.

Yes, provided the existing floor is structurally stable, devoid of loose tiles, and completely degreased. A high-adhesion bonding primer (such as an eco-polymer grip primer) must be applied prior to spreading C2TE S1 polymer-modified mortar. This technique saves demolition time and minimizes structural debris.
Excellently compatible. Sintered porcelain has exceptional thermal conductivity (λ = 1.3 W/mK), warming up rapidly and distributing heat evenly across the living space without warping or releasing volatile fumes. An S1 or S2 deformable adhesive with expansion joints along the room perimeter is recommended to absorb thermal expansion.
Absolutely. Follis slabs are non-porous (<0.05% absorption), 100% frost-proof, and totally immune to UV sunlight degradation. For exterior cladding, they can be mounted using chemical-structural bonding or mechanical hidden kerf clips on aluminum substructure grids.
PGVT features a mirror-like nano-crystalline reflective glaze that accentuates marble veining depth for formal halls and foyers. Silky Carving, by contrast, introduces microscopic micro-engraved grooves along the mineral veins, offering a subtle tactile relief and superior wet slip resistance (R10) ideal for luxury bathrooms and kitchen suites.
